Michele Sasdelli's homepage

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics, under the supervision of Prof. Wolfgang Hillebrandt, in Garching bei Münich, Germany. My main research interest is understanding the nature of Type Ia Supernovae. I am expert in machine-learning techniques and radiation transport modelling.

I completed my undergraduate studies at the Università di Pisa and at the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.
I obtained a Bachelor in 2009 with a thesis on experimental particle Physics with Prof. Luigi Rolandi and then I completed my Master of Science in 2011 with a thesis on radiation transport modelling under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Mazzali.

In my spare time I do astrophotography with my girlfriend. Above you can see one of the photos that we made from Sardinia!
